At the beginning of 2011 I concluded my MA at RMIT. I held the exhibition. I had lost my career in teaching to a government policy change. My partner and i decided that it would be good for me to have a break and go to Beijing to take up an artist in residency position run by Red Gate Gallery. I followed this with one at Three Shadows Photography Centre also in Beijing. I used the opportunity to make work around masculinity and became friends with Brian Wallace and worked at Red Gate as photographer, graphic designer and English speaking gallery assistant. I was also photographing for AusCham, a Argyle Hotels and others, as well as teaching English in private collages and Beijing Technical and Business University, I was also given jobs as an actor. This grand adventure lasted for three and half years.
