It is almost a rite of passage for a photographer who aspires to be a great portraitist to photograph the artists of his day. The theme of artists has been in my work since the beginning. In Beijing I was able to work with Brian Wallace of Red Gate Gallery to visit the studio of many of his stable of artists. In which I made portraits, often the artists working and views of their studios. Over the next few pages I have collected some of the portraits.
